To be in with a chance of winning this brand new writing competition, you simply have to write a fictional diary entry (in the first person) and you only  have between 200-600 words to make it really exciting. Your diary entry must be written in a compelling or revealing way. You may be talking about a secret, a mystery or about how you feel. It can be heartfelt, it can be dramatic, it must sound sincere.

Here’s the rules:

Must be written in English

Must be written in the first person

Must be written in 200-600 words including the title

Open to writers worldwide

Submissions must be original and previously unpublished

Submissions should be pasted into the body of the email  and sent to [email protected] on or before the 12th November 2015.

Please mark the name of the competition in the subject line.

Write, Learn and Publish members should email their submissions directly to [email protected] and add their membership number to the subject line.

Multiple submissions are welcome.

Please note that we only publish the overall winning submission which gives writers the opportunity to publish their work elsewhere even when they have won a prize. Copyright remains with the author.
