250 Word Writing Competition

Using the photo for inspiration, you have just 250 words or less (not including the title) to weave a story around the pocket watch.
Be as creative as you like but remember that you have a very restricted word count and therefore, each and every word must be important and aid the story.
Stories must be original and previously unpublished.
This competition is open to writers worldwide and entrants must be 18 years or older to win a cash prize.
All entries must be received on or before the closing date.
We prefer to receive submissions by email [email protected] and please mark the name of the competition in the subject line.
UK writers may submit by post and we will still accept payment by cheque although our preference is payment via PayPal. Contact details can be found here:
Multiple submissions can be made providing the correct payment is received.
Please note that it can take some time for results to be announced. This is because we read each and every submission carefully to assess its merit before moving onto the next stage. By entering this competition, you are implying acceptance to all of the rules.
