For this brand new writing competition and part of our writing extravaganza, you have just 250 words to craft a story but it must be around the photo on this page. We welcome creative interpretations of the theme but make every word count. The 250 words include the title so, think carefully about the starting point. We are looking for well-written, flowing story-lines that compel us to read on.
Rules:
Submissions must be received on or before the closing date
Submissions must be written in English
Multiple submissions are acceptable providing the correct entry fees are paid
Stories must be original and previously unpublished
Maximum word count is 250 words including the title

Note: We endeavour to judge, award and publish the winner within 14 weeks from the closing date but this does depend on the number of submissions, the quality of work received and the difficulties in the judging process. Therefore, this is an approximate estimate and entry implies acceptance to the rules.
