For this fiction writing competition, you have up to 800 words to draw us into your story. The theme is Inheritance and you must include reference to the last will and testament of one of the characters.
Does this create family conflict? Is the inheritance a shock? Is the inheritance different than anything imagined? This is entirely up to you but as always, we are open to creative interpretation. Your story can be amusing or deadly serious.
With only 800 words, you must start your story at just the right point so to create a compelling plot.
Note: You do not need to use the photo.

Submissions must be original and previously unpublished
Submissions must adhere to the word count. 800 words maximum including the title – which must be The Inheritance Writing Competition
Submissions must be in English
Submissions are welcome from writers worldwide. All writers must be aged 18 and over to win a cash prize
Stories must be pasted into the body of the email.
