1st Prize: £150.00

2nd Prize: £100.00

3rd Prize: £75.00

Entry fee: £2.50 per poem or FREE to Write, Learn and Publish members

Closing date: 5th December 2014

As autumn fades, it is time to embrace the winter months and to win yourself an extra £150 if you secure our top prize in this seasonal poetry competition.  With the competition guaranteed to be judged and prizes awarded on or before the 21st December 2014, you  have nothing to lose but everything to gain.

All you have to do is to craft a poem around the winter months and what it represents to you. This could be a descriptive poem depicting a winter scene as in our photo, or it could be a humorous look at the hectic build-up to Christmas and all that it represents for you. The theme is completely open to interpretation and we welcome cleverly crafted poems with a visual appeal from writers across the globe.

Poems must be previously unpublished

Maximum 40 lines

Must be written in English

Multiple submissions are welcome but the submission must be your own and the correct entry fees are paid.

Send your poem to [email protected] and mark the competition name in the subject line. Write, Learn and Publish members should also add their membership number to the subject line.

We prefer submissions to be pasted into the body of the email.

Submissions must be received on or before the closing date.

Judging will be completed and prizes awarded by December 21st 2014.
