Feeling a little creative? Why not enter our brand new No Way Out! Fiction competition? To be in with a chance of winning, create a story using the character in the photo above. You only have 700 words so make every word count. Not sure where to start? The theme is No Way Out so you must plunge your character straight into a difficult situation. Then consider how the character thinks and feels. Is he moody, sad or wistful? Perhaps he is frightened or just resigned to the outcome. Remember that your story must also be unique and previously unpublished.
Rules:
You must be aged 18 or over
Open to writers worldwide
Maximum word count is 700 including the title
Submissions must be original and previously unpublished
You may enter multiple submissions providing the correct fees are paid
You must enter on or before the closing date
Submissions must be written in English
We welcome imaginative interpretations of the theme
Submissions must be added to the body of the email (unless otherwise specified) and sent to: [email protected]

If you are a Write, Learn and Publish member, you are entitled to enter for free, please mark the subject line with your membership number.
Payment must be made via PayPal. Please add the PayPal transaction reference number (given once payment is made) to your email. Alternatively, please include the PayPal email associated with the payment as this helps us to speed up the process.
Please note that we only publish the overall winning submission as this enables all other submissions to be submitted elsewhere. Copyright remains with the author.
We allow 12 weeks from the competition closing date to award, announce and publish the winning entry.
