By the Light of the Moon
by Vicky Sutton
He waited outside my window. Cute, desirable but so unsuitable. Each night, his courage increased. He’d climb, muscles rippling, clinging to the ivy. Each night he failed. Tantalising, teasing, I would show him more. My shoulder, one breast, tempting in the moonlight. By the fifth night, desire overwhelmed. He clawed to my window, heart-racing, I clung to him. He excited me, wanted me. My desire surged. But then, he uttered the fatal words. I love you and disdainfully, I pushed him away. His body crumpled beneath my window. It was time to move again.
