Worried that you have no time to enter writing competitions? Think again because today we announce our brand new First Sentence writing competition and look at the amazing prizes for writing one sentence! If you fancy a go, all you have to do to be in with a chance of winning is to create a dramatic, opening sentence using our photo for inspiration. Every word must count.

Here’s the rules:

Must be written in English

Must be one sentence only

Open to writers worldwide

Submissions must be original and previously unpublished

Please use First Sentence as the title and add First Sentence Writing Competition to the subject line of the email when submitting

Submissions should be pasted into the body of the email  and sent to [email protected] on or before the 21st April 2015

Write, Learn and Publish members should email their submissions directly to [email protected] and add their membership number to the subject line

Multiple submissions are welcome but please ensure the correct fees are paid

Make your payment here – £2.50 and change the quantity if submitting more than one entry

 

 

From 2015, we endeavor to judge, award and publish the winners in 11 weeks or less from the time of closing. Entry implies acceptance to these rules.
