Your mission; to create a lively, imaginative response to the question – What’s behind the door? You have a maximum of 50 words to create a compelling response that will make us long to take a peek or, to stay away and to keep that door firmly closed. Don’t just tell us, be imaginative, have fun with the competition and bring it to life. Make us appreciate your entry.

Here’s the rules:

Must be written in English

Must be original and previously unpublished

Open to writers worldwide

Maximum word count: 50 excluding the title

Multiple submissions are welcome providing the correct entry fees are paid

We welcome imaginative interpretations of the theme but your story must be inspired by the photo

All submissions should be pasted into the body of the email and sent to: [email protected]

Please mark the subject line as: Door Competition.

Ensure that your submissions arrive on or before the closing date.

We only publish the overall winning submission to enable competitors to re-use their entry thereafter. Copyright remains with the writer.
