Ready to get inspired? Our new creative writing competition will test your creativity but it’s worth it. Imagine winning the top prize of £500. Using the photo published here, write a story in 1000 words or less including the title. Make sure you do not go over over the specified word count so start your story right in the key moment so that it draws us in straight away. Remember that your story must be unique and previously unpublished.
Rules:
You must be aged 18 or over
Open to writers worldwide
Maximum word count is 1000 including the title
Submissions must be original and previously unpublished
You may enter multiple submissions providing the correct fees are paid
You must enter on or before the closing date
Submissions must be written in English
We welcome imaginative interpretations of the theme
Submissions must be pasted into the body of the email (unless otherwise specified) and sent to: [email protected]

Payment must be made via PayPal. Please add the PayPal transaction reference number (given once payment is made) to your email. Alternatively, please include the PayPal email associated with the payment as this helps us to speed up the process.
Please note that we only publish the overall winning submission as this enables all other submissions to be submitted elsewhere. Copyright remains with the author. We allow 12 weeks from the competition closing date to award, announce and publish the winning entry.
