Is there a game called Love?
by Jayne Peters
As I picture your heart, I see the truth, blackened edges, jagged like rocks, ruthless and cold, your reality overshadows mine; I bear the brunt of your dislike.
Your soul is beyond hope. You inflict pain and tear me apart, is this sport? When I yearned for you, you burned me. When I turned my back, you claimed me.
Is there really a game called love?
You wield emotions like weapons, the searing blade cuts through my hopes, I probe your depths. I shiver, you are ice to my fire, when I cry, I see hope in your eyes, the darkest of feelings emerge; you can feel but only pleasure in my pain.
Is this life?
